Prior to Machida VS. Shogun 2, their first outing resulted in a controversial unanimous victory by Lyoto Machida over Shogun Rua. There was strong debate whether or not Machida defeated Rua, as Shogun seemed to have dominated the UFC encounter. Machida-Shogun 2 will finally settle the score and determine who the best is at the 205-lb, light heavyweight limit of the UFC.

Shogun and Machida have vowed to not let the fate of their rematch be left on the judges’ scorecards, as both have proven to have heavy UFC knockout power.
