Typhoon Ondoy (PICTURES)

28 September 2009 | Category: Top Story, World News

See more Typhoon Ondoy pictures below. Typhoon Ondoy flooded the Philippines and left paths of destruction with record-breaking rainfall that left most of the country in ruins.

The Ondoy rainfall dealt an equivalent of one month’s rain. In the Typhoon Ondoy flood pictures, many vehicles were left wrecked or turned over in streets and garages. Others were forced to evacuate their homes or climb atop their rooftops due to Ondoy and the destruction the flood caused.

Discussions about car insurance, home insurance, and home loan renewals and applications are rampant because of this disaster. Many car and home insurances apparently do not cover “acts of God” events, where no one had control of the situation. It seems likely that home loan applications will rise because of the substantial damaged caused to houses all over the metro.

Also, the government is looking for volunteers who could donate goods, food, first aid kits, etc. Those who could use and administer the first aid kits to ailing victims are also necessary to help the affected people.

In spite of the destruction that Ondoy caused, Jacque Bermejo wrote a Facebook comment that outraged Filipinos all over the world. After writing down that her fellow Filipinos deserved such a disaster, many were infuriated and angrily replied to her Facebook comment.

The typhoon was a trial, to make us and our families stronger. It also gave an opportunity for us to help in any means that we can =)
  • The Philippines is still in need of more donations for the victims of the 2 recent typhoons which hit the country the past 2 weekends.

An American Entrepreneur already offered help by giving away $50 each to chosen people in the Philippines who are personally extending help to their own relatives, family members, friends, neighbors, and even strangers who are greatly affected by the strong storms. He even created a site that gave way for soliciting help around the globe. He has started the movement. Let us offer help in any way we can.

No amount is too little when it comes from the heart.

we can't blame God for this. everything happens for a reason. what we should do is to face this calamity with all our strength and determination to survive. This time, we should act as one and show our compassion with our kababayans like in so many ways. Let this also be a learning to us all, that in tragedies like this, everyone is equal. It is just a sad truth that we only feel equality and sincere love in cases like this.
