19 September 2009

Watch the free live stream video of UFC 103 which is headlined by the return of “The Phenom” Vitor Belfort against Rich “Ace” Franklin. UFC 103 will mark the return of Vitor Belfort in the octagon, where, because of his unparalled striking and Brazilian jiu-jitsu skills, he was dubbed as “The Phenom.” He will face a tough challenge in Rich Franklin in a match with a catchweight limit of 195 lbs.
Vitor almost did not make weight at the Belfort-Franklin weigh-in. He was 196 1/4 lbs and was given an hour to meet the weight limit, which he did. Strange, though, because Belfort was the one who appealed for a catchweight below the light heavyweight limit of 205 lbs. Franklin easily made weight.
The full list of matches that can be viewed via the UFC 103 live stream videos include:
Pay-Per-View card (10 p.m. ET):
Vitor Belfort (196.25) v. Rich Franklin (195)
Junior Dos Santos (236) v. Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic (226)
Paul Daley (170) v. Martin Kampmann (169.5)
Frank Trigg (170.25) v. Josh Koscheck (170)
Hermes Franca (159) v. Tyson Griffin (155.5)
Mirko “Cro Crop” Filipovic, the Croatian knockout artist, will fight against a game Junior Dos Santos. Cro Crop has always been enjoyable to watch for fans with his stand-up striking game.
Josh Koscheck will also be watched in the UFC 103 free live stream video. He was heavily booed during the UFC 103 weigh-in because of his attitude towards UFC fans. He will fight a tough fighter in the veteran, Frank Trigg.

UFC 103 weigh-in results, Belfort VS. Franklin (VIDEO)

19 September 2009

The UFC 103 weigh-in results video are in as headliners Vitor Belfort and Rich Ace Franklin stepped on the scales for their much anticipated UFC battle. Vitor Belfort first tipped the scales at 197 1/2 lbs, too heavy for the 195-lb catchweight limit. He then took off his shorts and weighed 196 1/2 lbs and then went naked for 196 1/4 lbs. After being given an hour to make weight, Belfort tipped the scales at 195 lbs. Having no problems compared to his opponent, Rich Franklin weighed in at 195 lbs easily.
Belfort looked deflated for the catchweight of 195 lbs at the UFC 103 weigh-in. Long used to fighting at the light heavyweight limit of 205 lbs and the heavyweight division, the Brazilian jiu-jitsu master does not seem to have his prime body shape. This seems strange to UFC fans and Belfort fans alike, as Vitor himself requested for the catchweight and that he told the media during a workout session that he was having trouble keeping weight on.
Vitor Belfort has long been a stalwart in MMA and the UFC, having had fights with Randy “The Natural” Couture and Wanderlei Silva. Dubbed as “The Phenom”, Belfort has yet to reach that status. He had also tested positive for steroids back in 2006 for Pride 32.
The full results of the UFC 103 weigh-in below:
Pay-Per-View card (10 p.m. ET):
Vitor Belfort (196.25) v. Rich Franklin (195)

Spike TV fights (9 p.m. ET):

Drew McFedries (185.25) v. Tomasz Drwal (185)

Rampage Jackson out of UFC 107 for movie role

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

06 September 2009

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will not fight Rashad Evans at UFC 107 because he will play the role of B.A. Baracus, the character “Mr. T” popularized, in the new “A-Team” movie. Because of the filming, Rampage will not have sufficient time to prepare for his fight with Evans. This puts a damper on the highly anticipated showdown between the two coaches of the two teams in The Ultimate Fighter 10.
Rampage’s decision to opt out of UFC 107 lets down his hometown fans in Memphis, where the fight is slated to be held. It also puts down the tradition of The Ultimate Fighter coaches battling it out in a UFC cage after their stint as coaches end.
UFC President Dana White is currently unavailable for comment, though he has once expressed his distaste for MMA fighters taking on movie roles in the prime of their careers.
Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is a standout in the UFC and MMA, accumulating wins over big stars like Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell and Wanderlei “The Axe Murderer” Silva.
