Watch Lady GaGa perform “Paparazzi” at the MTV Video Music Awards below. Lady GaGa came into the MTV Video Music Awards with 9 nominations, just like Beyonce.
In the end, Lady GaGa won the Best New Artist award http://www.timesnewsnetwork.com/mtv-video-music-awards-winners/, leaving her with a one out nine mark at this year’s VMAs. She also got to impressively perform “Paparazzi” during the show. The most controversial event, however, happened when Kanye West interruped Taylor Swift while delivering her acceptance speech for the Best Female Video. Swift won for “You Belong with Me” when West interrupted to say that Beyonce had the best video of the decade with “Single Ladies”.

Kanye West interruped Taylor Swift’s award acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards. Taylor Swift won the award for Best Female Video for her song, “You Belong with Me”, which beat out Beyonce’s “Single Ladies”, and began her acceptance speech at the VMA’s by stating:
“Thank you so much! I always dreamed about what it would be like to maybe win one of these some day, but I never actually thought it would have happened. I sing country music so thank you so much for giving me a chance to win a VMA award.”
At this point, Kanye West stormed the stage and took the microphone. Kanye then told everyone that Beyonce deserved the award over Taylor Swift, saying:
“Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!”
The crowd at the Radio City Music Hall was left stunned at Kanye’s actions. They booed him and gave a humiliated Taylor Swift a standing ovation.
