Mayweather completely dominated the Mexican Marquez for all 12 rounds of the fight. All three judges awarded the fight to Floyd Mayweather, Jr., with the following scores: 118-109, 120-107, 119-108.

Mayweather delivered a solid left hook to the chin of Marquez that sent the Mexican down on the canvas at the 1:25 mark of the second round. It was merely a sign of things to come for Juan Manuel, who was thoroughly outclassed by “Money” for the next 10 rounds. Marquez was visibly slower, weaker, and older than his opponent, Mayweather, who got into a scuffle with “Sugar” Shane Mosley and the ring interviewer after the fight.

The punches landed percentage was a clear indicator of the Mayweather-Marquez results. Floyd connected on 290/493 for a 59% connect percentage, while Marquez was a lowly 69-583 for 12%.
