Marquez was visibly slower, weaker, and older than his opponent, Mayweather, who got into a scuffle with “Sugar” Shane Mosley and the ring interviewer after the fight.
The punches landed percentage was a clear indicator of the Mayweather-Marquez results. Floyd connected on 290/493 for a 59% connect percentage, while Marquez was a lowly 69-583 for 12%.
With the Floyd Mayweather win over Juan Manuel Marquez, Mayweather improved his win-loss record to 40-0 while Marquez dropped to 50-5-1.
