Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will not fight Rashad Evans at UFC 107 because he will play the role of B.A. Baracus, the character “Mr. T” popularized, in the new “A-Team” movie. Because of the filming, Rampage will not have sufficient time to prepare for his fight with Evans. This puts a damper on the highly anticipated showdown between the two coaches of the two teams in The Ultimate Fighter 10.
Rampage’s decision to opt out of UFC 107 lets down his hometown fans in Memphis, where the fight is slated to be held. It also puts down the tradition of The Ultimate Fighter coaches battling it out in a UFC cage after their stint as coaches end.
UFC President Dana White is currently unavailable for comment, though he has once expressed his distaste for MMA fighters taking on movie roles in the prime of their careers.
Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is a standout in the UFC and MMA, accumulating wins over big stars like Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell and Wanderlei “The Axe Murderer” Silva.
