Watch the video of David Robinson giving his Hall of Fame speech below. David Robinson turned around the San Antonio Spurs the season he was drafted. Long the cornerstone of the Spurs franchise before Tim Duncan, Robinson and his athleticism ultimately revolutionized the center position of the NBA.
Robinson has long been criticized for such things as being soft and winning a title only when Tim Duncan came along. Together, they formed the formidable Twin Towers and won two NBA championships.
“The Admiral” does not mind the criticism and still remains as one of the classiest players to ever join the NBA.

Watch the video of the Michael Jordan Hall of Fame induction below. Michael Jordan, the greatest basketball player ever, was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, together with John Stockton, David Robinson, Jerry Sloan, and Vivian Stringer.
A few parts of Michael Jordan’s speech transcript, which highlight his competitive fire that fueled his drive to win, are highlighted below.
Michael Jordan on Jerry Colangelo:
“Jerry’s not here. I don’t know who’d invite him. I didn’t. I hope he understands it goes a long way. He’s a very competitive person. I was a very competitive person. He said organizations win championships. I said, ‘I didn’t see organizations playing with the flu in Utah. I didn’t see it playing with a bad ankle.’ Granted, I think organizations put together teams, but at the end of the day, the team’s got to go out and play. I think the players win the championship, and the organization has something to do with it, don’t get me wrong. But don’t try to put the organization above the players.”
Michael Jordan on Bryon Russel:
“I was in Chicago in 1994 … and at this time I had no thoughts of coming back and playing the game of basketball. Bryon Russell came over to me and said, ‘Why’d you quit? You know I could guard you. If I ever see you in a pair of shorts …’ When I did come back in 1995 and we played Utah in ‘96, I’m at the center circle and Bryon Russell is standing next to me. I said, ‘You remember the comments you made in 1994 about, ‘I think I can guard you, I can shut you down, I would love to play against you? Well, you’re about to get your chance.’“
In the end of his Hall of Fame induction speech, Michael Jordan thanked Chicago:
“They took me in,” he said. “And I had to earn my keep. They believed in me. I believed in them. That marriage lasted up until now. I will always, always have the deepest warmth for the city of Chicago and the support I’ve received from them. Other than what I’ve done, I can’t give back any more. And I wouldn’t ask for any more. I just want them to be able to remember the things I contributed to the city. And hopefully at some point down the road, they can have another championship just so they can compare the two. I wouldn’t be standing here without their support without a doubt.”

Watch David Thompson, Michael Jordan Hall of Fame (VIDEO)

Michael Jordan has chosen David Thompson to present him during his induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Watch David Thomspon highlight videos below.
David Thompson was a former NBA high-flyer who had a solid career with the Denver Nuggets. Thompson also starred at North Carolina State as part of the Wolfpack. Jordan played for the North Carolina Tarheels. When asked about inducting Jordan, who many consider as the greatest basketball player ever, David Thompson stated:
“I got a call from the Hall of Fame and they asked me if I was willing to be a presenter for someone. I said, ‘Yeah.’ I didn’t know who it was. They said Michael Jordan. I was like, ‘Wow.’ He told them that he was a big fan of mine and I was the one that really inspired him. Being that there was so many North Carolina people he could’ve chose, I was honored.”
But what mattered more to Air Jordan was that before Jordan became the greatest NBA player, David Thompson owned the skies. Thompson was then the NBA’s resident high flyer. Michael Jordan wrote in “For the Love of the Game”, his 1988 autobiography:
“I built my talents on the shoulders of someone else’s talent. I believe greatness is an evolutionary process that changes and evolves era to era. Without Julius Erving, David Thompson, Walter Davis, and Elgin Baylor, there would never have been a Michael Jordan. I evolved from them.”
