“Live Like We’re Dying” is the first single of Kris Allen. The song was initially popularized by the band, “The Script.”

Paula Abdul as Ellen DeGeneres (VIDEO)

Watch Paula Abdul imitate Ellen DeGeneres at “Divas Live” of VH1, after Abdul lost her “American Idol” judging job to Ellen. Abdul, dressed as Ellen DeGeneres, complete with a short blonde wig and black pants, asked the audience:
“Why are you all staring at me? Can’t a girl try out for a new job?”
At the event “Divas Live”, Abdul not only dressed up like Ellen but also imitated her by doing the Ellen dance and made her way to a set that appeared like The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Abdul admits, though, that this is all good-natured fun, saying:
“All kidding aside. [I have] nothing but love for Ellen, and I wish you the best of luck and congratulations on your new gig. And call me! You gotta call me if you have any Simon problems, ’cause you know, I know him best.”
Apart from “Divas Live”, Paula Abdul performed at another VH1 special at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City. There, she sang her hits like “Straight Up”, “Forever Your Girl, and “Opposites Attract.”
She opened the show by imitating Ryan Seacrest, saying:
“I’m Paula Abdul, and this is not ‘American Idol!’”
The “Divas Live” special by VH1 also included performances by music stars like Jennifer Hudson, Miley Cyrus, and Kelly Clarkson.

Dancing with the Stars Season 9 contestants

Tags: , , , , , , , , ,

17 August 2009

Paula Abdul is not going to compete despite rumors to the contrary. (She’s not going to guest star on ABC’s “Ugly Betty,” either, but TMZ is reporting that the network is still looking to get in the Abdul business and is considering a number of other options, including a variety special.)
So who will be vying for the ballroom’s top prize? Kelly Osbourne, daughter of Ozzy, pop singer and former reality star, will find out if her theater experience gives her an advantage. In 2007, she starred as Mama Morton in a West End production of “Chicago.” But she’ll likely face some stiff competition from R&B singer Mya, who began her career as a professional dancer. It should be interesting to see what dynamic another musical artist, raspy-voiced Macy Gray, adds to the race.
Donny Osmond will make his “Dancing” debut to see if he can outlast sister Marie, who came in third during the show’s fifth season.
Among the season’s actors-turned-movers-and-shakers are “Entourage’s” pushy publicist Debi Mazar; former teen witch Melissa Joan Hart; Ashley Hamilton, son of George Hamilton (and ex-husband of Shannen Doherty); and Polish model-actress Joanna Krupa, who most recently competed in ABC’s summer reality series “Superstars.”
Keep an eye on what kind of fancy footwork former Texas Congressman Tom DeLay has to offer. DeLay was indicted for money laundering in 2005. (Could this be a Rod Blagojevich move? Ex-politician turns to reality TV for a little image rehab? Perhaps.)
As is tradition, several pro athletes also will try on their dancing shoes: Swimmer Natalie Coughlin, who has 11 Olympic medals under her belt; former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver and football Hall of Famer  Michael Irvin; professional snowboarder Louie Vito; and former Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight champ Chuck Liddell.
And rounding out the competition are Aaron Carter, younger brother of the Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter; former supermodel Kathy Ireland; and the chairman of “Iron Chef America,” Mark Dacascos.

The “Dancing with the Stars Season 9” contestants were announced earlier today in the show, “Good Morning America.” Continue Reading

After news of Ryan Seacrest’s huge new contract with American Idol, bad fortunes appear for a diffrent Idol mainstay. Simply put, Paula Abdul may not even be returning to American Idol.

Paula Abdul’s new manager, David Sonenberg, who has only started representing the American Idol judge a few weeks ago, says the Paula Abdul camp was not given a new contract proposal for Abdul. It does not appear that Paula Abdul will be back as a judge in American Idol.

This judging panel revamp is happening approximately a month before the start of the auditions for the ninth season of the successful American Idol saga. This judging panel revamp after Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly called Abdul “an integral part of the show.”

What do you think of this change in lineup for the American Idol judges? Do you think Paula Abdul deserves to be back as an American Idol judge?

American Idol Ryan Seacrest: highest-paid reality TV host

14 July 2009

Apart from being the host of one of, if not the most successful reality TV show in history, Ryan Seacrest has added another milestone in his hosting resume: the highest paid reality TV host ever.
Seacrest, the American Idol host who shares the celebrity podium with American Idol judges Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul, Kara DioGuardi, and the infamous Simon Cowell, has just been granted a raise – a $45 million raise – that extends his stint with “AI” for three more years.
The raise is more like a financial freedom plan, considering that Seacrest’s old contract gives him “only” $5 million per season and ensures a run at the hosting spot through 2012.
“I’m truly appreciative of being part of a show that has had such an enormous impact on popular culture across all ages,” acknowledged Seacrest.
Simon Fuller, the creator of American Idol, had this praise to say about Ryan Seacrest: “Ryan is an essential ingredient to American Idol’s success, and I am so happy that we will continue our relationship beyond ‘Idol’ into the future. Ryan is without doubt one of American television’s most talented stars.”
Seacrest could not contain his excitement for his new contract, as he twittered, “Very excited about locking in a deal to host Idol for this season and the following 2.”

Apart from American Idol, Seacrest, also is a host at E! News, a daily radio show, and American Top 40.
With such a hefty contract, do you think that the other characters in the show – the four American Idol judges – deserve the same or even a more significant pay raise than American Idol host Ryan Seacrest? More interestingly, what do you think Simon could have said upon hearing the Seacrest’s good fortunes? “Appalling”?

Kara DioGuardi, American Idol judge

27 September 2008

Kara DioGuardi, an American Idol judge, is a stalwart in the American music industry. DioGuardi is a singer-songwriter, record producer, music publisher, A&R executive, and now a TV personality because of her judging role in American Idol.
Kara DioGuardi has worked with pop stars like Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Hilary Duff and Paula Abdul.
As an American Idol judge, Kara sits alongside Randy Jackson, Simon Cowell, and new AI judge Ellen DeGeneres. Ellen DeGeneres replaced Paula Abdul because of the latter’s contract disputes with FOX.
Upon joining AI as a judge on its eighth season, Kara DioGuardi has served as a steady and fair judge, a stark contrast to the eternally nice and pleasing Paula Abdul and the nasty and critical Simon Cowell. Apart from working as an American Idol judge, DioGuardi has also served as Vice President of A&R for Warner Bros. Records since 2008.
Kara DioGuardi pictures reveal most of her best moments as a music industry mainstay and her American Idol highlights. Kara DioGuardi bikini pictures can also be seen there, where she performed next to “Bikini Girl” in the finale of American Idol Season 8.
Kara DioGuardi videos showcase her best talents on video. Here, Kara DioGuardi in a bikini wows the crowd with her sexy performance alongside Bikini Girl. Her interview with Jimmy Kimmel can also be seen here, together with her writing and performance of her song, “Strangers and Angels.”
