Phillies beat Dodgers on Rollins’ double in 9th (VIDEO)

Jimmy Rollins lined a two-run double with two outs in the ninth and final inning to raise the Philadelphia Phillies past the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-4 for a 3-1 lead in the NL championship series.
Because of the Rollins double in the 9th, the defending champion Phillies have a chance to wrap up the series at home in Game 5. The 2008 NLCS and World Series MVP, Cole Hamels, will take the mound for his team, the Phillies.
Jimmy Rollins had this to say about his double in the ninth which earned the Phillies the victory over the Dodgers:
“This is big. The pressure’s all on them.”
Down 4-3, the Phillies rallied with one out in the ninth inning when Matt Stairs walked on four pitches against Jonathan Broxton. Broxton then hit Carlos Ruiz, but Greg Dobbs looped a soft liner for the second out.
Then, the Rollins double in the 9th moment came, when he hit a 99 mph fastball to right-center and the ball rolled to the wall. Andre Ethier’s tried to throw toward the infield but was high and off line.
Jimmy Rollins pointed upward as he rounded second and got mobbed by his Phillies teammates at third base. Even injured Jamie Moyer, who just underwent surgery, limped out to partake in the celebration.
Rollins stated about the celebration that ensued after the Phillies win over the Dodgers:
“I’m all right. I had to curl up in the fetal position and throw some punches of my own.”
