Armed protesters of President Barack Obama appeared before an event where Obama was giving a speech in a convention center last Monday.

President Obama is under fire recently, most especially for his strong advocacy for health care reform. One person in the crowd had an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle with him while others carried handguns. He was one of many gun-rights advocates who claim to be exercising their right to bear arms and protest.

Phoenix police stated however that those who brought guns at the event did not need permits and that there were no crimes were committed.

The man with the semi-automatic rifle told The Arizona Republic about his firearms display:

“In Arizona, I still have some freedoms.”

Many experts have explictly stated that the presence of such guns and firearms in presidential events like that of the public speeches of President Obama raises a lot of concern and may lead to scary consequences.
