World renowned guitar expert Les Paul has just died Thursday due to complications from pneumonia. He was 94.
Credited as one of the many pioneers of rock ‘n’ roll, Les Paul performed with some of the biggest names in the industry and produced several hits with his wife, Mary Ford. He was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame because of his inventive streak that made him universally acknowledged by guitar experts as the premier guitar pioneer. Many rock icons look up to him, as Richie Sambora, the guitarist for Bon Jovi, states:
“Les lived a very long life and he got to a lot of his goals, so I’m happy for him in that respect. At least he realized that he was a legend in his own time while he was alive. He was revolutionary in the music business.”
Even Paul Stanley of Kiss said:
“The name Les Paul is iconic and is known by aspiring and virtuoso guitar players worldwide. That guitar is the cornerstone of a lot of great music that has been made in the last 50 years.”
Paul died in White Plains, New York.
