Lance Armstrong invited more than 1,000 Irish cycling fans in Dublin to join him for an impromptu ride in Phoenix Park. Armstrong used Twitter at around 10 in the morning to invite fans for a cycle in Europe’s largest park, tweeting:
“Good morning Dublin. Who wants to ride this afternoon? I do. 5:30pm @ the roundabout of Fountain Rd and Chesterfield Ave (in the park). See you there.”
Lance Armstrong took time out from a cancer conference to do the impromptu cycle. The seven-time Tour de France winner also joked around in the afternoon of that day by posting on Twitter:
“I’ve decided it’s too nice and sunny to ride. I think I’ll just sit around. Kidding!! On my way to phoenix park. Hell yeah.”
